Post 2: Tiny Fingers
As I grab
onto these tiny fingers,
one at a time
to steady all their little wiggles,
my mind wanders to
a time, a place
far off into the future.
I wonder...
where will these fingers be,
what will they be touching,
who will they become?
Their potential
is awesome,
their path just beginning.
As much as I want to hold onto
these tiny fingers forever...
I know that one day
they will accomplish
something
AMAZING!
Ahhh, a familiar scene to me!
ReplyDeleteLove how you thought about those hands years from now. Beautiful.
Aww. So precious. It takes me back in time, we didn't do any nail painting :) but now I can enjoy my grandchildren's little hands and think about what amazing things they will grow up to do.
DeleteSniffle, sniffle. Great poem today Kim! You are right - those tiny fingers will do amazing things and I can't wait to hear about it! My own tiny fingers painted my toe nails last night...such a sweet sight and lovely memories to hold onto.
ReplyDeleteA sweet scene for a poetic slice. One to tuck away for upcoming celebrations, I think; I picture re-readings at graduation, wedding, arrival of grandchild....
ReplyDeleteAwesome, sweet, and inspiring. I love how you captured a simple moment and made it so meaningful.
